So I know...

I know it's been entirely too long since I posted but I'm gonna catch everyone up! Here is my most recent picture. It was taken yesterday at 27 weeks, 4 days.

We went to have a checkup at 25.5 weeks and Ronan was already measuring 2 pounds 6 ounces! HOLY MOLY! He's not even supposed to be 2 pounds yet! Hopefully he slows down a little cause momma don't want no C-section and Daddy was a big boy for an early twin measuring in at 6 pounds! Anyways... He is healthy and great and we are SO excited to meet him and hold him!
My shower is in 2 weeks and I am excited for that too! Here's our invitation: (to be cont'd)

Nesting

Mommy has been hard at work getting stuff done for Ro's room. We are moving the month before he is born so obviously I won't paint the walls of the room we're collecting his things on right now. But just imagine the walls painted a pretty light gray color. Very neutral (cause I like color and with all the color that will be in his room, colorful walls might be taking it overboard). Here's his crib full of the art work that is going on his walls. that I have collected (and painted) And of course his lovely lady giraffe who does not have a name yet. She is my favorite thing in his room. She was purchased for $69.99 on Amazon.com with free shipping (In stores I found her for $100.... elluva deal if I do say so myself).

And here is his glider and a dresser I've had forever that will be used as a changing table. I am taking the decopauge off of the drawers and I will either replace it with gray and white chevron print or just gray but the dresser will remain turquoise. The colors of Ro's room are of course gray, turquoise, yellow and some blue. Oh and that's Ollie-gator he came back with us from Washington.

These are pretty awesome. I want most of his clothes to be hanging, precisely because I made these cool size dividers. I wanna be able to reach in and grab his outfit knowing it's the size I need. SO I made newborn, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months and on the back these say 12-18, 18-24, 2t, 3t and 4t so when he gets bigger I can just flip them over and voila! got all the door hangers/scrapbook paper/stickers for around $5.

I love this R. I bought a cardboard R from hobby lobby, painted the sides blue and the front and back turquoise then I cut out a smaller R in giraffe print with a exacto knife and mod podged it to the R. (Mom, aren't you so proud of your crafty daughter?) All this I got for around $5.

These are another of my favorites. These are 8X10s that will go above his crib. I googled "giraffe silhouette", "elephant silhouette", and "Crocodile silhouette" and printed them out at the size I wanted. I then used a trusty exacto knife and cute the shapes out of the color cardstock paper I desired (yellow gray and aqua) and stuck em in a frame! suuuuuper cheap project! (just the cardstock paper which is about .44 a sheet and the frames which i bought for half price at hobby lobby for about $10 a piece)

Canvases, paint and electrical tape made these super cute chevron prints.

This cross I handpainted. Did not follow a design, just freehanded the giraffe print.

There's much more where that came from. Here's a sneak peak of what I designed on babybedding.com. I hope we get this as a gift at our shower. If not, we will order it. I was going to attempt to make it all buuuuut... I don't think I wanna tackle that considering I'm pretty new at the sewing stuff and this fabric is about as expensive at getting it made on this website.

I have many more projects ahead of me but I will definitely keep updating the blog! Toodles!

It's a....

What a GLORIOUS day! We found out at 18 weeks but between going to Washington for Ron's sister's wedding and switching jobs (I now work at a daycare) we've been too busy for me to get a picture done by my sweet sis-in-law, Rachel. And I wanted that to be the official announcement. So here it is. He's a boy. He will be the first boy BORN INTO my side of the family in 22 years (Jeremy) and the first boy in Ron's family in 26 years (Ron and Russ)! He is also the first grandchild on Ron's side. He will be the 8th grandchild on my side :)

Ronan Jacob Hapoff

You can just imagine the proud look on Daddy's face :) And he thought it was a girl this whole time!

Isn't he just precious? Smiling already! Daddy says he looks like an alien. That is one cute alien.

I still have the occasional yucky tummy but I'm not gagging every time I open the refrigerator, lol. I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to finding out the sex of the baby! I have found SO MANY cute things to do with onesies that I can't contain myself!! What a cheap way to make SUPER CUTE clothes!

Turkey, Thanks and Terrrible Nausea

So tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I've been so excited for it because my nausea had been letting up but this past week it has been back in full force. Mainly in the afternoon/evening. So prayers to me for well feelings on my favorite food day of the year. Please.

I figured I wouldn't have time to blog tomorrow and that is the day I'm officially 12 weeks! I can't believe how fast time has flown! My little gummi bear is the size of a lime! Such a sweet little lime! Baby's growth spurt/the hormonal changes due to placenta taking over is supposedly what's making me sicker. So hopefully this is gone by week 14 or it could be around for the long haul :(

I am so thankful this year, and reasonably so! SO I want to share a little poem that was shared on my mom's board. It's not written by me so I can't take credit but here goes:

Lord, so often times, as any other day

When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing

Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

But Lord, I'd like to take just one minute more

To really give thanks for what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, and a nice soft bed

My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those

Whose lives touch me more than they'll possibly know

And thank you most of all, (just the thought makes us swoon),

For the new little life who is coming in June.

Thank you for reading my blog! I just want to share my excitement with everyone! Have a Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

11 week check in

Heeeeello! I'm 11 weeks today and our gummi bear is the size of a plum, or a fig, depending on the website you go to. I don't even know if those are relatively the same size?

Anyways, I'm starting to feel a little better, still queasy, can't find much I like to eat but I have more energy which is ALWAYS good.

We decorated for Christmas lastnight. I KNOW I KNOW... but I just have that much Christmas spirit. I love it. I boiled orange peels, cinnamon and pumpkin spice on the stove, mmm it was heavenly. But I realized, this is the last Christmas we'll have just the two of us. Not a sad thing at all! It's just really crazy to think next year, we will ave a sweet 6 month old baby and life WILL NOT be about us anymore. This is PROBABLY the last year we'll get each other gifts... well, gifts plural... I love giving (and admittedly, getting) so I probably won't ever quit getting things for Ron.

We decorated the tree differently this year. We went for Jolly Elf this year instead of rustic chocolate and red. I feel it suits our personalities better.

Jolly isn't it? hehehe, LOVE IT!

We're going to try and find out the sex of the baby the week before Christmas. I'll be 16 weeks by then and I've heard a lot of people say they were able to find out that week soooo, Baby Hapoff better spread it's cute little legs! I want to buy things! So bad! I finally broke down and bought some gowns.

Aren't the adorable? But yeah, I'm not really a gender neutral kinda girl so we'll wait and see what it is before we buy anything else.

On another note... I'm trying to figure out what Christmas family traditions I want to have with our little family so PLEASE share your traditions in the comment section! I would LOVE to hear them!
